Official Traverse County Contacts

For a custody question, a public booking record, or a permissible photo copy, begin with the Traverse County Sheriff’s Office. The county’s public roster is an official dated PDF, so read its printed date before relying on it as a current status source. A request that is not answered by the snapshot should be made in writing under the county’s Data Practice Policy. The policy says copies or electronic delivery may be charged at actual cost, and its older publication date means current procedures and charges should be confirmed with the office.

Call 911 for an emergency. The sheriff’s routine number above is the nonemergency route. For a public-data request, give the name, approximate booking date, agency, specific record sought, and preferred delivery method in writing. The sheriff can explain the actual cost that applies; this page cannot promise that a record will be released or that a particular fee will apply.

The District Court and Minnesota Court Records Online are the appropriate official routes for a public case, calendar, or later disposition. A booking allegation is not a conviction, and a court record may be pending, sealed, expunged, or otherwise unavailable.

Use the route that fits the question:

  • For a current county custody snapshot, check the official roster PDF and its printed date, then use the sheriff’s nonemergency line for a routine question.
  • For a past booking or a record absent from the PDF, send a focused written public-data request to the sheriff under the county policy.
  • For a court case or outcome after booking, use the District Court or MCRO.
  • For a state prisoner or supervised person, use the Minnesota DOC search, which is separate from county booking custody.
  • For status alerts, use Minnesota VINE; federal and immigration custody have separate BOP and ICE locators.
